ChipBot Update 1.7 Symmetry

Over the last couple of months, we’ve been iterating on user-facing functionality. Read on to look at some of our new features and we’ve been working on since our last update. Also, we’re trying something new with our update posts by naming the release. With that being said, this release is called 1.7 Symmetry.

The number 1.7 comes from our internal versioning from our code deployments. We never released our versioning number until now.

Sometimes you’ll get a question through email or social media. If you already have a detailed answer within ChipBot, you can link directly to it by hitting “Expand” on the Insight. A modal will appear with a larger view of the content.

The modal will display a “Copy Link” button.

Clicking the “Copy Link” button allows you to paste a direct link to this modal and users hitting that link will see and have a chance to provide feedback.

Now you have three different types of Triggers available to popup on your website.

  1. Call to action – Can show text, video, and images.
  2. Question – Can collect questions from your users without opening the ChipBot interface.
  3. Feedback – Can collect instant feedback anywhere on your website. Currently, I’m using this to measure the quality of my blog posts, which helps me improve SEO.

Below is a video we use on our Features page that highlights all three types.

Many of our users want to know what you can do with ChipBot and how they can improve it on their end.

I’m currently adding a video every 4 to 5 days and you can find them by clicking on Guides & Tutorials when you open ChipBot on the bottom right.

  • Rearranged the report page to show search the search queries on top.
  • Fixed an issue where search queries sometimes don’t show up.
  • Added more icon options for Tiles.
  • Removed the drag and drop feature for changing the position of ChipBot in the dashboard.
  • Fixed label defects within the Dashboard.
  • Improved accessibility features and added a visual scrollbar for iOS and OS X on ChipBot.
  • Improved IE11 and Microsoft Edge performance.
  • Fixed an issue where certain versions of Firefox may not load ChipBot.
  • Improved Trigger visibility by adding a timed outline border. We’ll continue to tweak this while we balance between subtle and distracting notifications.

Since our last update post, we’ve spent a lot of time improving the actual ChipBot. These are the items currently working on what administrates ChipBot as well as the items that will unlock its full potential:

  1. Building a new Dashboard that’s more intuitive, robust, and adaptable for our cognitive automation needs. This is a huge change, but we’ll have a toggle for existing users to switch between the old and new dashboard.
  2. Building an easier and better experience for adding ChipBot to new websites.

Also, we’re still open to feature requests and we review them as they come in. If you have an idea for ChipBot, let us know the use case!
