Update #49 – Deeper AI Context, Help Desk Enhancements, and New Chat Controls

We’ve been cooking up some meaningful improvements across Chat, Video, and Help Desk. This release focuses on polishing the AI experience, giving you more control over notifications, and resolving some edge-case bugs affecting mobile and content display.

Three quick announcements for what’s coming later this month:

  • A new AI tab will be added with one exciting new ability: Agentic mode.
  • ChatGPT 5 will be an option to use for Live Chat in the next couple weeks.
  • I have a new podcast releasing called OnlyFounders with an agency owner co-host. We’ll be talking biz, tech, and the human side of running a small business. More details next week!

Here’s what’s new:

  • Smarter AI Context: The AI is now better at understanding the full conversation. It also prioritizes Help Desk content when available, giving visitors more accurate answers.
  • New AI Feedback Option: Visitors can now give thumbs-up or thumbs-down feedback on AI replies—helping us continuously improve the response quality.
  • Profile Name + Icon Fixes: Resolved issues where the AI profile name or icon wouldn’t appear until after the first message.
  • Greeting Logic Tweaks: Improved how greetings trigger so they don’t pop up mid-conversation when reconnecting.
  • New Notification Settings: You can now control if notifications happen on every message or only the first. You can also respect your chat schedule when sending them.
  • Request Human Button: A new toggle lets you add or remove the “Request Human” button—great for tailoring support options.
  • Smoother iOS Experience: Fixed an issue where the website would scroll unexpectedly when chat opened on iPhones.
  • Improved Message Flow Stability: Greetings stay consistent even after editing your message flow setup.
  • Custom Button Icons: You can now set a unique icon on each video call-to-action button.
  • Better Small Screen Behavior: Fixed an issue where buttons weren’t clickable on smaller screens due to overlay conflicts.
  • Carousel Navigation Fix: If you’re customizing icon shapes, the arrow to switch styles now appears as expected.
  • Title Sync Toggle Respected: If you disable automatic title syncing, it now stays off reliably.
  • Smarter AI FAQ Generation: Our new FAQ builder uses deeper reasoning to recommend high-quality, relevant questions.
  • Article Navigation Fixes: Improved back button behavior so it works more intuitively when moving between article views or edits.
  • Tile Reordering Stability: Fixes to ensure tile reordering works smoothly when creating new content.
  • Domain Intelligence: ChipBot now adapts more intelligently to your site’s domain for a faster setup and smarter defaults.
  • Analytics Timezone Fix: Fixed a mismatch in 24-hour time reporting—your analytics will now reflect the correct time.
  • UI Dark Mode Compatibility: Resolved an issue where ChipBot showed a white border on websites using color-scheme: dark.
  • User Management Location: The Manage Users section has moved from the Chat tab to General settings for better clarity.
  • Ecwid Integration – New native integration for Ecwid ecommerce users.
