Update #39 – Bug fixes and New Enhancements (Black Friday / Cyber Monday sales prep)

Are you ready for the Black Friday rush?

Some of you might have already started pre-BF/CM sales, and ChipBot is ready for it. 💪

We added extra capacity for our chat servers and performed 10x above-normal traffic testing this past week. You can assure ChipBot will load fast, notify you on customer messages fast, and stream videos fast for the largest sales week of the year.

Based on our models from last year, we’re expecting 50,000,000 requests to hit ChipBot from 11/20 to 11/27. That would break last year’s record and put us over 100,000,000 requests for November. Kinda insane the footprint ChipBot has.

This update delivers all the needed features for 2023 Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

• 💬 Chat: added ability to chat without requiring a Pre-Chat Form.
• 💬 Chat: added a phone number field and the ability to customize the checkbox requirement for GDPR and CCPA requirements.
• 💬 Chat: added ability to search through messages and threads within the dashboard.
• 💬 Chat: added ability to download chat transcripts from the dashboard.
• 💬 Chat: added ability to invite users to your account. Useful to add your receptionist, virtual assistant, or other employees to manage your chat.
• 💬 Chat: added a new instant Zap related to receiving messages from ChipBot. This means it’s possible to integrate with ChatGPT and stream responses straight to users.
• 💁‍♂️ General: added the ability to change the order of features displayed on ChipBot.
• 💁‍♂️ General: added the ability to set a specific feature as the homepage for ChipBot.
• 💁‍♂️ General: added domain-level webhook support.

• 📼 Videos: made it easier to go back and forth between editing and managing videos.
• 📼 Videos: improved visual performance in first 0.5s of when ChipBot loads.
• 📼 Videos: fixed an issue where super tall videos were not applying the zoom effect within the video grid.
• 📼 Videos: fixed an issue where root-level videos were not preserving the order they’re in.
• 💬 Chat: scrolling up on message history will get older messages.
• 💬 Chat: scrolling down on the thread list will present an option to get more threads.
• 💬 Chat: images lazy load instead of all at once (improves chat load performance). Also added loading indicators.
• 🚫 Obsolete: removed Google Analytics classic support

• 🔗 Direct: added ability to white label ChipBot Direct (on request only, requires medium or higher plan).
• 💁‍♂️ General: added webhook support for account-wide specific actions.
• 💁‍♂️ 🇯🇵 General: added Japanese language support option (beta).
• 💁‍♂️ 🇲🇽 General: added Spanish language support option.
• 🛠️ Fix: resolved an issue where user unsubscription URLs were going back to ChipBot.
• 🛠️ Fix: resolved an issue where some URL sources still pointed to static.getchipbot.com
