Update #32: New Black Friday Videos, Updated Tools, Data Export

What’s New?

New Black Friday Videos

Don’t have any videos for your Black Friday / Cyber Monday promotion yet? We asked Megan and Ian to add a quick promo video for your biggest traffic event of the year! Whether you’re in e-commerce or a service provider, these videos can help spur a sale.

Go to your video, then click “Speakers” to access Megan or Ian’s limited edition videos. Watch the quick YouTube video below to see them in action!

Videos will disappear on Black Friday, so be sure to set them before Black Friday hits!

On-Site Video Grid

Turn your page into a built-in TikTok profile page with our new video grid feature. Great to showcase all your videos on one page.

To add a ChipBot video grid to your page, copy and paste the HTML snippet below. Make sure ChipBot is available on the page, or else the snippet won’t do anything!

New Analytics

You can now access more data on how your videos are performing in the dashboard. Here’s how to get to that page.

One last thing, you can also do a bulk export on all your videos. For the e-commerce stores that have UGC videos or video product demos for each product, it’s now easy to see all data for your 50+ videos.

Just go to the Analytics page. Click Video. Then click “Export CSV Data.”

New APIs

Event reporting API

Listen to all events that ChipBot collects along with system-level events. Useful for in-house analytics or customer experiences based on what the user does with ChipBot.

Render Video Grid API

As mentioned in our list of new features above, you can use our API to render a video grid on your website. You can also use the HTML version as seen below.

Updated Open Contact Form API

You can now pre-populate a contact form which will make it easier for end-users to fill out customer support or customer inquiry forms.

  • Added statistics and new buttons within Compact Mode on the video manager.
  • Added 16:9 icon setting for landscape videos that require 16:9 aspect ratio.
  • Added ability to remove search bar from Nexus.
  • Platinum plan users now enjoy 300,000 more unique hits than before. (2.5x more capacity).
  • Added new annual plans for businesses that want deeper discounts.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where ChipBot would still interact with the page if all features were disabled.
  • Fixed quirkiness on adding URLs to a video button (before the fix, depending on if you typed vs, you would get different behaviors).
  • Fixed an issue with super old ChipBot installs (2018-2019 installs) 🦖

Anything else?

We’re working on a new video experience! It’ll be something you can toggle between the old and new one, but it’s going to be a game-changer for engagement. Stick around and keep an eye out in January when we unleash our biggest upgrade to ChipBot yet! We’re one of the few companies who still actually care about improving the current web for businesses while the rest are figuring out what Web 3.0 and Web 5.0 are about.

Everyone’s always chasing shiny objects…

Finally, we’re opening up requests for our latest beta feature, code name “uber video”. If you want to earn around $50-$100 of extra cash, we can add you to our marketplace where users can request you to record a custom video. If you’re open to it, send me an email at and add “uber video” in the subject line.

Oh also, we’re about to cross 3,000 signups. And I recently just swapped our banners with 2,500 too on our socials. Time to open up Photoshop again. 😮‍💨

Everyone here who uses ChipBot and are embracing a world where video devours everything (for better or worse), thank you!
